Stuart Lowden has enjoyed a hugely impressive career within the security industry. Perhaps best known as a co-founder of Wilson James’ award-winning security operation, in a pro bono capacity Lowden has been actively involved in some of the sector’s best-known and most respected organisations having served for many years as a director of The Security Institute, chair of ASIS International’s UK Chapter and also chair of the British Security Industry Association. A graduate of Edinburgh University, Lowden’s career in the security business sector began in the role of owner and operations director at Argus Shield, an undertaking that stretched from July 1984 through until October 1991. Following on from this appointment, Lowden joined Pinkertons and served as commercial director between October 1991 and December 1996. Lowden’s 21-year tenure at Wilson James witnessed the business pioneer modern working practices within the security guarding arena by delivering an unrivalled and continually demonstrated commitment to the Working Time Directive for its personnel. Having left the Wilson James operation in the middle of 2018, Lowden has since been working as a strategic risk management consultant, with his appointment as chair at Ward Security announced in May 2021. workflows, thereby strengthening the delivery of NSI approval.
